About Me

Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate

Imagine waking up every morning feeling like you can take on the world. How great would that feel? I opened the doors of my practice to clients in the Seattle area — offering them a wide range of counselling services to guide them through life’s challenges, and during the most trying times.

I am Suchika Siotia, Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of WA. I am originally from India, moved to Seattle in 2019. I have 2 years of clinical experience working in government hospitals and private practices in India. During this period I have seen more than 500 clients across developmental ages and worked for more than 1000 clinical hours. My aim is to help the youth, families, adults, and couples to cope with emotional, behavioural and interpersonal challenges by employing evidence-based practices that are shown by research to result in positive long-term outcomes. In my therapeutic modality, I use an eclectic approach whereby I implement the techniques of the third-wave therapy like Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness. Coming from a diverse country, I understand the importance of culture in mental health and aim to provide services that align with my clients background. I work in collaboration with my client's to provide them with tailored therapy.

What To Expect At Your Visit

Therapeutic alliance is the most important factor that contributes towards the success of any therapy. During my first meet, I aim to establish rapport and understand your  concerns from your lens. I gather detailed information about you to get an insight into your bio-psycho-social-spiritual factors. This helps me conceptualise the issues that you bring in and provide you with the treatment plan. Initially we will have a detailed intake, followed by assessments, formulation of treatment plans and then initiation of the therapy. I aim to collaboratively work with you through each of these steps.

I implement effective psychotherapy methods to instil self-understanding in my clients and encourage them to adopt new attitude and feelings towards life situations. It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the client and the therapist alike. But in the end, making small changes to self-defeating behavior and coping with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results.
